Sponsor A Top Islington Athlete | Islington Chamber of Commerce ...
?
Mount Anvil construction company has signed a sponsorship deal with local swimmer Harry Needs (pictured), who hopes to compete in next year?s Olympics. This is as part of a scheme, set up by Islington Council and Sport Islington, which supports top Islington athletes aiming to compete at international events such as the Olympics or a world championship. The organisers are looking for other businesses to get involved.
There is a pool of young athletes who seek help that compete in sports including fencing, gymnastics, and canoeing. The sponsorship is an invaluable contribution towards a grant that goes towards the cost of training, travel and equipment. Sport Islington, which represents sports clubs in the borough, will give each athlete ?500/year.
?For a contribution of ?1,000/year a business will be able to:
- Have a photo opportunity with the athlete at a training venue or at its office, which will be used for a press release by Islington Council
- Use the athlete?s name and profile in promotional material
- Have an acknowledgement of support on the websites of Islington Council and Sport Islington
- Have regular updates from the athlete.
?In addition the business may receive:
- An invitation to training and events
- An acknowledgement in Islington council?s newspaper, Islington Life
- An opportunity to have its logo on the athlete?s training kit (at additional cost).
